In the past year, Philly Thrive has striven for environmental success.  Everyone had worked together in live actions, demonstrations and meetings against the oil refinery and at the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.

On Tuesday November 29, forty Thrive members went down to the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority.  We expressed ourselves through sticky notes.  We wrote messages and personal thoughts of how the refinery expansion would affect the lives of many. Placing the notes on the windows of the Port Authority showed the people that we are serious and that we love our environment. After another action there a week later, our voices were heard.

No expansion-- YAY.  We won the fight!  Our fight to have the right to breathe.  Our year has ended with a great victory.  Today we are celebrating our accomplishments and hard work.
