Since May 2017, Philly Thrive has been running a campaign to make sure residents of Philadelphia decide the future of our energy system. In that time, we have successfully put pressure on the Mayor's Office of Sustainability to demand energy planning involve residents most impacted by our current energy system. We have also began modeling for the Office of Sustainability what we think real community engagement looks like by engaging over 250 residents in a survey about energy.
The Nov. 4 Town Hall is a milestone in the campaign. By discussing the results of the survey, we will take another step in building a vision for our energy system by and for the people. All are invited - those who participated in the survey and those who didn't get the chance to - for a lively discussion about what's most important to our communities when it comes to energy development.
The next step out of the town hall will be an action to deliver the survey results to the Office of Sustainability, as well as a Leadership Training for new members to join Philly Thrive and continue building our vision for an energy system where we all have the #RightToBreathe.
