If we are going to advocate for our neighborhood, we want to stay living in it.

In 2022, Philly Thrive began organizing for housing justice and joined anti-displacement efforts across the city. We were part of the state-wide coalition that won Whole Home Repairs legislation. We joined in solidarity with UC Townhomes and other groups from across the city when residents were being pushed out of their homes in West Philly. In 2024 Philly Thrive successfully advocated for $5 million in the city’s budget for the Built to Last green home repairs program.

This year, Philly Thrive is joining with Renter's United in asking the city to reinvest in this widely popular program and allocate $10 million to Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA), which administers the program, as well as $10 million for L&I to launch a pilot proactive inspection program for rental code enforcement.
